That would mean the contract would equal to 2 year for 26 million depending on how much the option will be for. Despite being out for a month with an oblique injury, Utley stands to play 125 games this year, the most he would play since 2009. Utley is putting up good numbers this year .277 with 13 HR’s and 36 RBI’s. The Phillies look to Utley as their franchise player, and if he retires as a Phillie, he would be one of the few players to play for one team his entire career.
