Backup Centerfielder?

The Phillies are desperate to find a centerfielder since Ben Revere injured his foot a few weeks ago. The search may end soon, according to Fox Sports reporter KenĀ  Rosenthal, the Phillies may sign recently designated for assignment Chris Dickerson. He would solve their backup centerfielder problem. I guess they think John Mayberry can play center, but after last night’s game I do not think he can play. Dickerson last played for the Baltimore Orioles and played in 46 games and batted .245. He is 31 years old and has played for the Reds, Yankees, Brewers and Orioles. He is a career .263 hitter with 16 homeruns.

Strong Interest In Michael Young

It’s the Trade Rumors that make this time of year in baseball the most interesting, at least until September when the Pennant races heat up. The rumors have become something Michael Young has to deal with and according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports said that there are about 12 teams that have checked in on the services of Young. The Red Sox and Yankees seem to be the front runners, if Ruben Amaro wants to trade his third baseman. Young is having a good season so far, he is batting .288 this year and has played the majority of the games (89) and has stayed healthy for the most part. The next two weeks will definitely heat up and stay tuned for any updates!
